I've been checking up on the progress of HyperbolaBSD, as I do every couple of years, and they're getting quite close!

It's an interesting project and I admire their dedication to keeping incompatible software out of the original Hyberbola GNU/Linux distro.

Having used Triquel before, I always assumed that this would be the same, with a libre kernel and stripped packages but their list of unwanted software goes as far as including Free Pascal and a few other surprises - a lot of thought has went into it all.

It's not practical for everyone, but for those who do want to avoid non-libre software and have compatible hardware it's really quite useful to have these constraints built-in, paired nicely with Canoeboot or Libreboot!
